Natural climate buffers - Wet nature, dry feet
Safety is of paramount importance when it comes to climate-resilient spatial planning in the Netherlands. Costly technical solutions alone are no longer enough. We must allow nature to take part in the building of a safe delta where people can live, work and pursue recreational activities. The large-scale application of ecological processes fits into this picture. With the use of natural climate buffers, we are giving these processes sufficient latitude and are working on a safe, sustainable and beautiful result: wet nature and dry feet.
