Solve critical problems around environmental issues
One of the keynote speakers at Aquaterra 2009 is Dr. Sharon Nunes. As Vice President of Big Green Innovations in IBM she was given the mission to launch new businesses for IBM using IBM’s information technology expertise, and materials & processing expertise to solve critical problems around environmental issues.
IBM’s approach to this initiative is focused on collaborative innovation, highlighting the need for multiple parties to come together to address these issues. One of the spearheads of Sharon’s focus is to find innovative solutions with the enabling role of IT that address the IT infrastructure challenges of water management systems. The efforts of Sharon’s team are very much in line with the Smart Planet initiative that IBM launched recently. This initiative and the impact for the water sector will also be addressed in her keynote speech. |
